I got my first relaxer at the age of four. Yes, four! After 21 years of religiously relaxing my hair, I decided to stop. I had dreams of long, defined curls that would be easy to manage. I was convinced that once I ditched the relaxer, my hair goals would become a reality. But I was wrong. My hair grew quickly, but it was dry and a nightmare to manage. After years of trying countless products without seeing a curl in sight, I was ready to throw in the towel.

Determined to rewrite my hair story and achieve the natural hair of my dreams, I started eliminating every store-bought product I owned. I experimented by removing all the ingredients I couldn’t pronounce or identify from my hair care routine and replaced them with organic, botanical ingredients known for their incredible benefits. The results were astonishing—my hair began to flourish! When I shared my homemade products with a friend, she kept asking for more and eventually encouraged me to share them with others. Stepping out on faith, I launched Curl Ministry a few months later.

I’m passionate about creating truly organic products and discovering new techniques to keep curly hair healthy. With my thick coily curls and my daughter’s extra thick zig-zag curls, I live what I make and preach what I practice!
